An equinox in astronomy is that moment in time (not a whole day) when the center of the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth"s equator, occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year. 16th Annual Manasquan Classic 9/14/2008 On Sunday, Sept. 14th, we will yet again pay homage to the sport of kings at the Manasquan Classic Longboard Contest! This is a rain or shine event... the hurricane date is September 21st. There are divisions for everyone and, as always, the ONLY rules are contestants must ride a pre-1967 longboard (3' overhead), no leashes and no complaints - pretty much anything goes because it's all about the aloha! Check-in begins at 7:00am, first heat at 8:00am. Qualifying boards will be available for use, so come on down - entry fee is only $35, which includes a contest t-shirt and the chance to win bragging rights over your buds!
