Cumberland County

Cumberland County Resources

"You've found your way to the beautiful and exotic heart of Southern New Jersey. Forget your stereotypical ideas about New Jersey. This is the last frontier. See the natural beauty of Cumberland and Salem Counties.

No New Jersey Turnpike and oil refineries here--just natural beauty. I'm talking about the wild and scenic Maurice River and its tributaries, the Pine Barrens, the breathtaking farmlands of Cumberland and Salem Counties, not to mention the Delaware River and Bay area. So if your crusin' down the ol' NJ Turnpike, slow down, pay your toll, get off at Exit 1 and start your tour in Salem County.

Take those back roads and don't be afraid of getting lost. Go 35 miles in any direction down here, and you'll be on the shores of a river, a bay or the Atlantic ocean. The picture above is of Cemetery Road near Greenwich, NJ. So visit Daretown, Canton, Othello, Greenwich, Fortescue, Dividing Creek, Bivalve, and Shellpile. And last but not least, Vineland, the birthplace of Welch's Grape Juice and home to the Palace of Depression. This is the other New Jersey."
