» Post NJ Coastal Paddle blogSo, this year's attempt at paddling the NJ Coast without stopping was not a success. Some would call it a failure (I might include myself in this category) and chalk up the experience as proof that this is not attainable (I would NOT include myself in this category). Others might feel that it was not proof. Maybe some else will try it. Read more »
» NJ Coastal Paddle LaunchesWooboy. Today's the big day. Am I up for the challenge? Will I be able to maintain the stamina needed to do this thing? Went to bed a bit later than I'd like, but maybe with wind and tide at my back I can make up for that...and plenty of nutrition on the water. Read more »
» PreparationsThe kids are still lazily sleeping so I better take this opportunity while I still have it and do a little blogging. After two late nights in a row-one spent being raffle girl at Surfrider Foundation's South Jersey Chapter's fabulous art auction and tabling for SJSf Chapter at the Dave Mathews Band concert, any hope of an early start on the water evaporated. » Dana PointThe day was gray and misty when I left Long Beach. Big huge droplets of water that were not quite rain collected on my face and eyelashes and the wind and swell added their own abuse. Definitely didn't make time on yesterday's paddle, that's for sure! Read more »
» The Home StretchBit of a south wind yesterday, dolphin show, and sailboats everywhere! A few motor boats mixed in, and the sun finally came out to make it a beautiful day. June and I are back at Chuck Lee's boat and are gonna pack up early and head out to Long Beach. We're in the final stretch now. I can't believe that I'll be paddling to Dana Point today!! It's actually the only stop on this journey that I've actually been to previously so I know right where to go. Read more »
» Boat TrafficThe stretch from Paradise Cove to Redondo Beach was my most crowded paddle yet. It's good to see so many folks out enjoying the water in a variety of ways! Read more »
