Even Polar Bear Plungers Don't Like LNG

In addition to the massive public turnout at the public hearings on the offshore LNG island, there were other successes as well. First, at the NJ hearing, a representative from Congressman Frank Pallone's office asked for a 30-day extension to the public comment period. The Coast Guard granted that request. And in Long Beach, NY the Surfrider Foundation's NYC Chapter and the Central Long Island Chapter have been trying get the City Council to pass a resolution against this plan for months.  Just days after seeing the massive public opposition to this plan, the Long Beach Cty Council wrote a strongly worded letter against the plan to NY Governor Paterson.   Read more on that and see the letter here: http://longbeachny.org
