Mother's Day in Florida

We had a great weekend visiting Margo. During the four days we were down there, we had plenty of time with her and her gracious hosts and partnering colleagues. We also accompanied her on her visit with Governor Charlie Crist to get his support for the healthy ocean campaign she champions. (He had held a press conference on the following day to announce his candidacy for the US Senate, which was nice in that his announcement didn't detract from Margo's press conference on the steps of the Capitol in Tallahassee earlier that day!)

The entire weekend was one her best in the three years that she's been at her mission to advance public policy regarding ocean health. She got an Op-Ed placed for Mothers Day and her local events and coverage has extended into Panama City, where she paddled into today. She finishes in New Orleans next Saturday, May 23rd.

The kids and I just got back home on Monday and we'll be starting our journey back down next Wednesday, which just might make us as crazy as her. But it'll be nice to bring her home.
